Originally a novel penned by author Anthony Burgess, A Clockwork Orange, released in 1962 is the tale of a youth gang and its leader Alex, who along with his cohorts commit violent and disturbing crimes against those who live in the local area. The film chronicles the rehabilitation and release of Alex and how he is received by those he tormented. About ten years after the debut of the book the movie was released. The screenplay was written, directed and produced by Stanley Kubrick.
