The Oompa-Loompas were first featured in Roald Dahl's 1964 book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They have since appeared in the 1971 musical Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory then later in the 2005 remake starring Johnny Depp. Parody of the characters have featured on TV shows such as Jackass, the Simpsons and Family Guy.
